Price and booking
How much does it cost? £13.99 per person for one menu (Traditional Raclette or French Poutine), or £15.99 per person for both. That covers the food, condiments, gas, staffing, palm-leaf trays and bowls, birch-wood cutlery and napkins. The only extra is travel: nothing within 10 miles of Haslemere, then £1.50 a mile from Haslemere, one way.
Why do both menus cost more? Two menus mean more ingredients, more prep and more kit running side by side. For bigger events I may bring an extra crew member to keep the queue moving, and I build that into the price rather than adding it on afterwards.
How many guests can you do? 50 to 150. I serve about 60 portions an hour over a two-hour service. If you're outside that range, ask me.
How do I book? Use the form on the home page with your date, postcode and guest count. I send you a price within a week.
When and where
Which days do you work? Saturdays, with evenings preferred. For December 2026 I'm also taking some Wednesday to Friday dates, so if you're planning a Christmas party, ask.
Where are you based, and how far do you travel? I'm in Haslemere, Surrey (GU27). I'm happiest within about 60 miles, which covers most of Surrey, Hampshire, West Sussex, Berkshire and a good part of London and Oxfordshire. Further than that is by exception, so ask early. Put your venue postcode in the form and I'll work out the travel.
On the day
When do you arrive? 2 to 3 hours before service. Service runs for about two hours and I pack down in about an hour.
What do you need from the venue? Firm, level ground, reverse access for the trailer, a household plug socket and any tap. The trailer and car are about 7 to 8 metres long together.
What if the trailer can't get to us? I can serve from a 3x3m gazebo instead, with the same menu.
What if the venue only allows its own caterers? Tell me the venue and I'll speak to them.
The food
Where does the cheese come from? Annecy, in 8kg wheels, melted in front of your guests and scraped over new potatoes with cornichons, or over rosemary fries with onion gravy.
Is it vegetarian? Gluten-free? Both menus are vegetarian and gluten-free as standard. Smoked French sausage is an optional extra, and it's the only meat.
Can you do vegan? Raclette is cheese, so a vegan event doesn't work and I'd rather say so now. If most of your guests are vegetarian, I can do a veggie raclette on request for a supplement.
Allergens? Lactose and mustard seeds. If someone has a severe allergy or coeliac disease, tell me and I'll plan around it.
Can I have it without the cheese? The cheese is the dish, so no, I'm afraid.
About me
Is it just you? Usually, yes. For high-volume events or when you want both menus, I bring an extra crew member and quote that into the price.
Do you do festivals or markets? Not since 2023. I only do private events now.
Are you really the only one left? A few mobile raclette traders appeared in the early 2020s and have since stopped. As of 2026, I think I'm the only one of my kind left in the UK. If that has changed, tell me and I'll correct this page.
